Relief works on self-help basis underway in Azad Kashmir
The government thus far has miserably failed to come to the rescue and relief of the people who were hard hit by the apocalyptic earthquake disaster yesterday morning.
Old secretariat located between Domeel and Chilamandi, Jalalabad, Gharipun, Tariqabad, Bank Road, Madina Market, Mirwaiz Road, Palate, Khawaja Bazar, Sethi Bagh and Eidgah Road of Azad Kashmir areas have been largely wrecked and ruined, as most of the residential buildings, government offices and schools have been leveled to the ground.
Hundreds of people lying buried under the rubbles could not be rescued and retrieved, as no relief work came forth from any quarters till now.
However, the people here were trying in their modest way to help themselves by taking out the bodies of their kith and kin and giving them a proper burial, while the survivors were helplessly waiting under open skies for tangible help and assistance.
