Bring a Blanket Day
Our plan is to hold a ‘Bring a Blanket Day’ at as many companies as possible on the 31st October and 1st November.
We need volunteers from within companies who are willing to take up the task of coordinating, organizing and collecting the blankets that the employees of those particular companies donate on the target days. We will take care of the logistics from the company premises onwards (for Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad).
Depending on the number of blankets we collect, we will share them with NGOs that need blankets and we will also take these blankets to the effected areas ourselves and distribute them to the victims. We will make sure that the blankets are put to the best use possible and reach the most deserved people possible.
Many people living abroad are also part of this email. If you guys can somehow collect these blankets and send them to us in Karachi or Islamabad we can take responsibility for them.
People who are willing to take up this responsibility need to first talk to their HR departments and coordinate it with them. Then posters (we will provide them) can be put up in the company premises and emails can be sent out to all employees to inform them of the plan.
On 31st and 1st, these blankets can be stored at the collection point till the end of the day at which point in time our vans can come and pick them up for transport up north.
Please send me a reply with ‘volunteer for bring a blanket day’ in the subject field if you are willing to help out.

We have lots of supplies (tents, sleeping bags, blankets, rope)but are having trouble getting them shipped from Seattle USA. Also if anyone can tell me what particular type of long term tent the families need for the winter, I have a group of volunteers who are experienced industrial sewers and access to industrial sewing machines.

Dear Mr. Shareef,
I would like to collect used but clean blankets from friends, family and co-workers to send to Pakistan’s earthquake victims. Is there a need for this kind of small contribution, and, if so, is there an organization (yours, perhaps?) which will get them to these people immediately without lots of red tape and/or delay?
Thank you,
Linda Engelmann
